An Adams County Deputy has been convicted of Child Abuse – C.R.S. 18-6-401 and Assault – C.R.S. 18-3-203 after he responded to a call in Brighton, Colorado. Earlier this summer, the deputy responded to a reported disturbance at 1:00am, and found a 15-year-old male who was very drunk. An ambulance arrived, and he was restrained by a paramedic because he was “verbally combative” (read the full article on thedenverchannel.com). There are witnesses that report the deputy went into the ambulance to get his handcuffs, and on his way, hit the boy in the face with his fist (the boy suffered a broken jaw). The deputy is now on administrative leave and is facing sentencing in October.
